The newly elected Hearts of Oak board chairman, Commodore Mensah says he hopes to transform the club into a true professional outfit.
Mensah who is making a return to the hot seat after twelve years beat his closest contender, Harry Zakkour, by ten votes to succeed Ato Ahwoi.
The chairman of a new look board of directors was all smiles in Accra yesterday after sixteen of the twenty-two directors present voted massively for the former chairman of the club.
He however paid glowing tribute to Harry Zakkour for putting up a good show which he believes would spur the club on.
Commodore Mensah says revamping Ghana’s oldest club will manifest both on and off the pitch.
He said Hearts of Oak must be elevated to a level befitting its status.
Meanwhile, Ernest Thompson is retained as the secretary of the new board for a four-year period standing unopposed.
Steve Mawuenyega has been chosen as the deputy board secretary.
