The chief executive officer of King Faisal, George Amoako, has announced that he would no longer compete for the presidency of the Ghana Football Association.
Amoako is one of the few individuals who had openly declared their intention to contest the position but he seems to have developed cold feet.
“I did give an indication some weeks back that wanted to contest that position. From hindsight, I am beginning to think otherwise.
“I believe that whether fair or unfair, the current administration under Kwesi Nyantakyi is doing something which is going very well for them.
"Whether it’s luck, whether proper planning, whether proper management, whatever as at now things are going very well for them and I do not intend to rock the boat,” Amoako said.
But the King Faisal boss is still certain he would have a place in the general running of Ghana football.
“The presidency is only one position. We are going to have an executive committee under the new statutes, which would run Ghana football.
“it is not the president of the Ghana Football Association who is going to have his way.”
