The five-man reform committee of the Ghana Football Association would be pushing through the new statutes at its extraordinary congress in Accra on today.
The FA had been preparing in earnest for its extraordinary congress which would see the five-man FIFA reform committee submit the new statutes for Ghana football.
The congress is expected to deliberate on proposals for the final implementation of structural reforms demanded in the administration of the Ghanaian game by football’s world governing body, FIFA.
Ahead of the congress, acting chairman of the FA, Kwesi Nyantakyi, is hopeful that discussions on the work of the three-man reform committee would be conclusive to pave the way for the implementation of the desired changes.
“The agenda for the congress is to consider the FIFA responses to our proposals, the government/FA protocol as well as the timetable for managing the implementation of the new statutes.
“My expectation is that discussions would be held on a frank and fair manner then at the end of the day the programme that we propose would be approved for there to be a smooth transition from the old order to the new order,” Nyantakyi said.
