Black Starlets coach, David Duncan, left Accra last night to attend the eighth edition of the UEFA conference in Cyprus.
Fifty-two managers and technical directors of national youth teams from Europe and the rest of the world will attend the conference.
Duncan is one of the three African managers invited to the program, which will be held from 28th November to 3rd December.
The other two African representatives are the Gambian coach, Fred Osam Duodu and coach of Ivory Coast’s Under-17 team.
The three men were in charge of the under-17 teams of the Gambia, Ghana and the Ivory Coast who were the best three teams at the last African under-17 championship hosted by the Gambia.
The technical men will deliberate on the development of youth football.
Before his departure, Duncan said, Africa would be pressing home the need to develop training facilities to improve the quality of the game on the continent.
He said UEFA and FIFA would have to assist African countries to secure artificial turfs that are gradually gaining popularity on the international front.
The conference will seek to draw up a long-term plan, which will be presented to football’s world governing body for the development of youth football.
