Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach Emmanuel Kwasi Afranie has settled on the club’s former captain, Kalilu Dramani as his assistant.
Kalilu Dramani is currently in charge of the club’s under-20 team.
But Afranie says he envisages a successful partnership with Dramani because of the former captain’s long association with the club.
“Kalilu has been around for sometime even before I joined the team. He’s been with the youth side and when I handled Kotoko in 1995, he was the captain, very respectful guy, very calm and I think that he would benefit from my tenure of office here (Kotoko).
“I want somebody who would listen to me and work hard to bring up the standard of football in Kotoko.
“Somebody who knows the inside and out of Kotoko because he has played for the club before,” Afranie said.
Kalilu Dramani was part of Ghana’s first batch of Black Starlets squad that played in world under 17 championship in Scotland 1989.
He also featured for the Olympic team, the Black Meteors that picked up bronze in 1992 at the Barcelona Olympic games.
