The inaugural edition of the special Otumfuo West African invitational tournament has been postponed.
The latest setback is due to a request by Nigerian Champions, Enyimba, to be allowed to honour a fixture in their domestic campaign.
The tournament initially set to begin on November 30 would now begin on December 11.
Accra Hearts of Oak, pulled out of the tournament, citing ‘unforeseen circumstances’ as the reason for their withdrawal.
They have since been replaced by Burkinabe side, Asfag Yenega. Ghanaian clubs Kumasi Asante Kotoko, AshantiGold and King Faisal will compete against Enyimba, Ivorians side, Asec Mimosas and Yenega in the tournament organized to commemorate the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s five-year reign.
