Local media reports say former Kumasi Asante Kotoko chairman, Herbert Mensah, is in the reckoning for a position on the board of directors of Accra Hearts of Oak.
Mr Mensah is one of the candidates who will be vying for the fourteen seats on the board at the club’s national delegates congress at the Royal House Chapel in Accra on Saturday.
According to reports other Hearts stalwarts like former chairman, Harry Zakkour, Ernest Bediako, Clement Duodu, Carl Lokko, Frank Nielson, Ato Orleans Lindsay and Togbe Afedzi are all in the race for positions on the club’s board of directors.
Board secretary, Ernest Thompson, will be hoping to retain his position while Tommy Okine seeks an extension of his mandate as chief executive officer of the club.
The board of Hearts of Oak will be constituted by 25 members with 10 appointed from the regions and 1 to be appointed by the Patrons of the club.
The congress scheduled for the weekend will be the club’s first in ten years missing two quadrennial terms due to a legal tussle over ownership which lasted for ten years.
