The Chief Executive Officer of King Faisal, George Amoako, has descended heavily on the Confederation of African Football over the payment of the club’s prize money from the Confederation Cup.
Faisal are entitled to a prize money of $175,000 for finishing second in their group.
But CAF has only remitted $50,000 of the said amount to Faisal and plans to pay the remainder in the second quarter of next year.
Mr Amoako told Joy Sports CAF has acted in a most unprofessional manner, which will frustrate Faisal’s participation in the next edition of the competition.
“We did our best to enter the money zone ostensibly to ensure that whatever money we had invested could be recouped.
“We requested the FA to find out why they sent they sent only $50,000 instead of the $175,000 which we have earned by virtue of being second in our group only to be written back to say well, the $50,000 is meant to be an advance to us and the difference of $125,000 would be paid in the second half of 2006.
“It’s ridiculous. We find it very, very unacceptable and ridiculous. It is not fair to the clubs and CAF cannot behave like this. It is most unprofessional,” Amoako said.
