Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s hope of signing Eric Gawu and three of his teammates from King Faisal for next season has hit a snag.
The prolific striker, Gawu, is on his way to Denmark on a deal reportedly worth about 200,000 thousand dollars.
Kotoko have officially written to Faisal to request the transfer of the players to bolster their attack next season.
But the Chief Executive Officer of Faisal, George Amoako, told Joy Sports, the club is keener on securing international transfer deals for the players.
“Currently I’m engaged in negotiations with some foreign clubs on almost four players they (Kotoko) requested for.
“I think we would give preference to the foreign clubs obviously because they can pay better.
“But if we do not succeed in our negotiations with the foreign clubs, why not, we would sit down with Kotoko and negotiate for their release,” Amoako told Joy Sports.
Asante Kotoko are reported to have expressed interest in four Faisal players including Eric Gawu, Yahuza Abubakar and Illiasu Alhassan.
