Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach, Emmanuel Kwasi Afranie says he intends to bolster his squad for next season’s CAF Champions league competition.
The veteran coach led Asante Kotoko to the league title in blistering form.
Kotoko were unbeaten in twelve league games since taking up the job in August.
But coach Afranie watched his side struggle to win their twentieth title after a disappointing 1-0 win over Berekum Arsenals at the Baba Yara stadium yesterday.
Though Afranie heaped praise on the performance his side for helping him achieve his target, he was quick to point out that he needs to strengthen his side in key areas.
“We have to build on this and put up a good show in Africa. But first, we have to revamp the team.
“We would have to sign on a few players for next season and especially with the African Champions league coming, the team needs to get prepared for tough games,” Afranie told a local station.
Already, the porcupine warriors have concluded the acquisition of Charles Taylor from Tunisian side, Etoile Du Sahel.
Kotoko who are reported to be in debt have splashed a staggering $200,000 fee for the midfielder they transferred last season.
Local Reports indicate that Kotoko are targeting King Faisal’s duo of Eric Gawu and Illiasu Alhassan.
