Black Stars striker, Joe Tex Frimpong was crowned the Most Valuable Player in the Nigerian Coca-Cola sponsored FA cup.
Joe Tex helped his club, Enyimba make history by winning the cup after beating Lobi Stars FC 7-6 on penalties after extra time scores settled at 1-1.
The FA Cup medal remained the only missing honour in the treasure chest of the Ghanaian player who has won three Nigerian league trophies and one goalking award in his five-year spell with Enyimba.
Joe Tex who is yet to score for the Black Stars has been prominent in the recent chain of successes with the Nigerian side, winning two consecutive African Champions League and Super Cup titles.
The striker was exempted from the Black Stars international friendly against Saudi-Arabia today
In a post match interview, Joe Tex said he was happy picking up the MVP award.
"I am extremely glad that the MVP Award came my way. This is an award I would cherish because it is the first individual honour for me. I just don't how to tell you how I feel.
"This has made me really happy because there was nothing to show when I was joint-leading scorer in 2002.However, this is different because of Coca-Cola has made several trophies available."
