Accra Hearts of Oak are threatening to contest the declaration of Kumasi Asante Kotoko as 2005 league champions in court.
Hearts say the Professional League Board, organizer of the league, has displayed bad faith in announcing a Disciplinary Committee ruling on the ill-tempered league match between Kotoko and Real Tamale United yesterday.
The board secretary of Hearts, Ernest Thompson, told a local radio station it is premature to crown Kotoko when allegations of match fixing surrounding the Kotoko-RTU match have not been thoroughly investigated.
With the last round of matches in the GT Premier League yet to be played, Kotoko have taken a seemingly unassailable lead in the title chase, four points adrift of Hearts.
The Porcupine Warriors have the disciplinary committee to thank for a three-point award for their game against RTU that was marred by crowd trouble.
Mr Thompson says Hearts still have a decent chance of winning the league and they will pursue it as far as the law court.
