Asante Kotoko coach Emmanuel Kwasi Afranie has made history as the only Ghanaian coach to lead both Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to two league titles.
On Sunday Kotoko will be crowned the 2005 league championship after being awarded all three points in their aborted premier league tie with Real Tamale United.
Coach Afranie kick started Accra Hearts of Oak’s dominance of the premier league in the past decade by winning the first championship for the Phobians in the mid 90’s.
After taking over the Kotoko job half way through the season, Coach Afranie has maintained an unbeaten run on the way to winning the club’s second trophy in ten years.
He says that the success has not come easy.
“I took over at time when we had two away games in succession and playing such games are not easy.
"It’s been hard work from everyone and I believe on Sunday when the FA hands over the title, it would be the best moment to celebrate,” Afranie told a local radio station.
