The Ghana Football Association has reposed confidence in coach Ratomir Dujkovic in the wake of British media reports linking former Manchester United striker, Andy Cole to a possible coaching role with the Black Stars.
The Ghana Football Association today denied reports in the British media linking former Manchester United striker, Andy Cole to the Black Stars technical bench ahead of the 2006 finals in Germany.
The acting boss of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi says they have enough confidence in Ratomir Dujkovic and have no plans to engage the services of any coach.
“We have not taken any decision to engage anybody as a coach or assistant to Mr Dujkovic.
“We have absolute confidence in him and have calls to review our relationship with him and seek a replacement” Nyantakyi said.
On the role of Dennis Tawiah, quoted as a representative of the Ghana Football Association, the FA boss stated that Dennis has not been engaged by the Ghana Football Association.
“It clear that we’ve not mandated him (Dennis Tawiah) to do any such jobs for us (GFA).
“We are surprised by that publication and it’s totally false. There is no truth in it,” the FA boss added.
Dennis Tawiah in a statement released today has also denied granting an interview to the British newspaper, the Sun.
“A discussion went ahead discussing Eddie Ansah, Ghana’s national goalkeeper's trainer and David Seaman and his attachment to NVA Management agency.
“Never in this discussion between NVA Management and myself was there discussed anything concerning the Ghana Football Association considering Andy Cole in our scheme of things.
"Never as disrespect to Andy Cole but the assertion in the story that we will be considering him in the plans of with the Ghana Football Association and the national team the Black Stars, is totally untrue and incorrect.
“No approach has been made by me whatsoever to approach Andy Cole to coach Ghana.” Dennis Tawiah stated.
Dennis Tawiah is quoted as saying that an approach had been made to Andy Cole who now plays for Manchester City and also to former England and Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman to assist the Black Stars technical bench.
