Accra Hearts of Oak defender, Dan Quaye is hopeful of securing a position in Ghana’s African Cup of Nations squad.
The Hearts player got a call up to the Black Stars for Ghana’s last World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde in Praia and is confident he can hold onto his place in the team.
“If the coach (Ratomir Dujkovic) invites me, I would be ready to play. It is my dream.
“ But I have to improve my game and get more serious if I want to secure a place in the CAN 2006 squad,” he told Joy Sports.
Quaye is one of the few local players in the national squad and he says CAN 2006 offers him the opportunity to move on in his career.
“I think the competition would help me get a move abroad if I play well” said Quaye.
