The senior national team, the Black Stars have expressed sincere gratitude to President John Agyekum Kufuor and the people of Ghana for the overwhelming support for the team throughout the 2006 World Cup qualification campaign.

The Black Stars are being given $18,000 each for qualifying Ghana to the World Cup.

President Kufuor announced $10,000 bonuses for the players and their handlers today at the Castle.

The President told the players at the Castle that their qualification to the world cup is a statement of Ghana regaining her glory not only as a football nation but also of an emerging economy.

President Kufuor committed government to providing equipment and resources for the Black Stars to make an impact at the world cup in Germany.

In response to the President, Skipper Steven Appiah said his colleagues are keen on yet more victory at the world stage and described the meeting as a rare moment of motivation for the Black Stars.
