AshantiGold have appealed a three-game home ban imposed on them by the disciplinary committee of the Ghana Football Association.
The Obuasi-based club was last week handed the ban over charges of crowd violence that erupted at a premier league game against Accra Hearts of Oak.
But Ashanti Gold’s new interim management committee chairman, Cudjoe Fianoo has described the disciplinary committee’s punishment as harsh and want the FA to either quash or lessen the punishment.
Fianoo also argued that the disciplinary committee did not use the evidence provided by the match commissioner in arriving at its final decision.
The club have also denied claims that they hired thugs for the game.
Irate fans of Ashanti Gold attacked some members of the Hearts of Oak technical team during that match at Len Clay stadium in Obuasi.
