The Black Stars arrived in Accra in the early hours of Monday morning to a heroes’ welcome following their impressive four nil win over Cape Verde.

The homecoming ends four decades of drought after the team secured their passage to Germany 2006.

That journey for the elusive world cup qualifying ticket began in 1962, when Ghana entered the qualifiers for the first time.

Most Ghanaians see the current crop of players as sealing their names in the history books of world football by reaching Germany 2006.

The team were welcomed by organised local support groups who had composed songs to welcome their heroes.
