Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah yesterday opened his scoring account in the Champions League as Fenerbahce beat PSV Eindhoven 3-0.
Appiah scored on the stroke of full time to hand Fenerbahce their first win in-group E.
Ghana’s Eric Addo was on the losing side as he played the full ninety minutes of Fenerbahce’s bashing.
Also in-group E, AC Milan settled for a 2-2 draw with Schalke.
Another Black Stars player, Michael Essien was in the thick of affairs as his Chelsea side and Liverpool shared the spoils in the all-English clash at Anfield.
Also ion the same group, Real Betis recorded a lone goal victory over Anderlecht.
In other results of note, Real Madrid got back into contention for qualification from in-group F where they beat Olympiakos 2-1 while Olympique Lyon continues with the dominance beating Norwegian side, Rosenburg 1-0.
Inter Milan also won 1-nil over Rangers of Scotland.
