King Faisal after yesterday’s league defeat to Real Sportive are struggling to keep their house intact as the coach of the team considers resigning.
King Faisal coach Francis Oti Akenteng is pondering his resignation following yesterday’s disappointing loss to Real Sportive.
Oti Akenteng who joined Faisal last season has brought King Faisal close to its first ever league title.
But after the club’s failure in the confederations cup and yesterday’s loss, Oti Akenteng has told Joy sports he doesn’t believe he can lead the club any more in its quest for the holy grail.
“I thought I could take the team to win its first league trophy but with the way things are going I think its becoming an illusion,” Oti told Joy Sports.
“I think I have to just leave them (King Faisal). Anybody can help them. It’s not very late, ofcourse there is only four points separating us atleast we still even have a match in hand.
“If we are able to win, it will take us to just a point between Kotoko and the team (King Faisal),” he added.
“I am having some personal problems. I don’t want it to affect the team. If you are doing something you set for yourself a goal and when you think you can’t achieve it, the best thing is to leave.” Oti concluded.
The club’s chief executive officer, George Amoako is also considering quitting as the club struggles to secure funding for their last continental game in the CAF/MTN Confederation Cup competition.
The club according to the CEO is burdened by a huge debt.
Faisal’s league chances was yesterday dealt a major blow after going down 2-0 to Real Sportive at the Tema Park.
Four points separate Faisal from leaders, Kotoko though they still have a game in hand against Real Tamale United.
