Accra Hearts of Oak are fuming over a decision by a professional league board that barred premier league clubs from playing any friendly matches last weekend.
A statement signed by Hearts’ administrative secretary, Mr Ashford Tettey Oku, said the club was only prepared to call off their friendly encounter with Feyenoord in the name of solidarity with King Faisal for their Confederations Cup match.
But not on the threats issued by the PLB that it would sanction clubs that fail to adhere to their directive.
The phobians say they could have gone ahead to play the friendly but their opponents-Feyenoord, bowed to the PLB’s directive and pulled out of the friendly match.
It said the rationale for arranging the friendly encounter is not to spite any club but to ensure that the team was kept busy in this year's 'on and off' Premier League.
