Ghanaian referee, Justice Yeboah has passed a fitness test conducted by FIFA for officials selected for the world under-17 championship.
Justice Yeboah, one of the six selected match officials from Africa would be an assistant referee for the competition which kicks off in Peru today.
Justice Yeboah is also in line for a call up to the world cup in Germany depending on his performance at the youth competition.
Nine of the 39 referees and assistant referees selected to officiate during the FIFA U-17 World Championship Peru 2005, all of whom feature in the list of candidates for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, have been ordered to return home from the event before it has kicked off.
This decision was taken following a fitness test to evaluate speed and endurance in Lima last Tuesday.
While the overall results were impressive, the test proved too stringent for three of the match officials taking part.
In one of the steps FIFA has taken to significantly improve refereeing standards, instructions issued to the referees prior to the competition made it clear that an entire set would be forced out of the competition if any of their members failed the fitness test.
