The Ghana Women’s Soccer League Clubs Association, GHAWSOLCA, says it has no plan of rescinding its decision not to release players for the women’s national team camping.
Members of GAWSOLCA have resolved not to allow players from the regional leagues to respond to a call by Black Queens coach Bashiru Hayford to assemble in camp for some upcoming international friendly matches.
The clubs insist the Ghana Football Association has no moral right to demand the services of their players since they do not contribute to their development.
The Vice-president of GHAWSOLCA, Phillip Degraft Johnson told Joy Sports that the FA has failed to support the league.
The GFA has constituted a Women’s League Board, which is tasked to cater to the needs of the league clubs.
But Degraft Johnson says the clubs want the board dissolved because its membership is not representative enough of the league clubs.
