Ghana’s opponents for Sunday’s crucial world cup qualifier, Uganda, have arrived in the country to adjust to their new environment before the game in Kumasi.
The squad of eighteen players and some technical officials arrived at the Kotoka International Airport a couple of hours before midday.
The Cranes occupy bottom place in Group two with seven points after eight matches in the African qualifying series.
They are obviously out of contention for the group’s sole ticket to Germany 2006.
But they have vowed to snatch a point from the Black Stars in their crunch duel in Kumasi on Sunday.
Ghana needs a win on Sunday to effectively seal qualification for the 2006 World Cup, depending on the outcome of the other group two tie between South Africa and Burkina Faso.
But the Cranes are confident they can produce a repeat of their last meeting with the Stars at the same venue in this decisive game.
Uganda beat Ghana in Kampala and picked a point in Kumasi to deny the Black Stars a place at the 2004 Nations Cup.
Ahead of the Ghana clash, the Ugandan football authorities have released an amount of 96million shillings to facilitate the team’ preparations.
The Cranes will leave Accra tomorrow for Kumasi.
