The Ghana Football Association’s infrastructure development program has been given a major boost with a $400,000 remittance from football’s world governing body, FIFA.
Joy Sports can confirm that the necessary paper work has been completed and Goal Project coordinator for Africa, Sampon Kablan, is already in the country to sign a deal with the FA tomorrow.
The FIFA Goal Project is designed to assist underprivileged associations with the financial means to acquire decent offices, playing pitches, training centres and other facilities to develop the game.
It is intended that each member association will have its own House of Football by the year 2006.
Ghana has met FIFA’s condition of approval for the second trunch of funds after completing the first Goal project, which is fully operational.
The GFA received its first Goal Project funds under the Ben Koufie administration.
