Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways at the Baba Yara Stadium where they posted a 3-0 win over Real Tamale United on Monday in the Glo Premier League.

The win, the first for the Champions after three successive failed attempts leaves them four points adrift leaders and rivals, Hearts of Oak.

After a goalless first half, Asante Kotoko returned for the second half much stronger as a brace from Alex Asamoah and a Stephen Manu goal handed the Porcupine Warriors a deserved win and also eased the pressure on under fire coach, Maurice Cooreman.

Asante Kotoko will be at home on Sunday, February 8 for the first round’s biggest clash as they host rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak.

The two teams shared the spoils in both games of last season’s fixtures.
