Ghana's Asante Kotoko have opted to use the Sekondi Sports Stadium for their first game in this year's African Champions League when the competition returns later this month.

The Porcupine Warriors, who are serving a three-game ban by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will host Ittihad Khemisset at their chosen venue when the Moroccan side visit in the second round.

Kotoko are serving a three game ban from CAF after some of their fans assaulted referee Coffie Codjia in an angry reaction to his decisions during a CAF Confederations Cup game against Etoile du Sahel last year.

Despite choosing the Western Regional capital, Kotoko says they will review the choice of Sekondi based on how well the first game there goes.

The Porcupine Warriors, one of the few clubs to earn a preliminary round bye in the competition play Ittihad Khemisset in the first leg at home.
