Accra Hearts of Oak dropped vital points at home as they shared the spoils with Liberty Professionals in their 1-1 drawn game at the Tema Park.

The Phobians, though two points behind the leaders - Asante Kotoko who play on Sunday, still have a game in hand.

Liberty Professionals started off strongly pushing the Phobians for the opener but after 12 minutes of play the home side shot into the lead.

Ablade Morgan continued with his fine scoring form as he put Hearts of Oak in front after Liberty goalkeeper, Kotei Blankson had made a complete hush of a cross leaving the striker with an easy opportunity to tap in from close range.

The goal was the fifth for Ablade Morgan this season.

Liberty accepted the challenge and found the equalizer in the 30th minute from a spot kick.

A shot at goal hit the hand of Hearts of Oak defender resulting in the spot kick which Tua Khamis slotted home past Laud Quartey in post for the Phobians to make it 1-1.

The scoreline stayed one-all as proceedings for the first half came to end.

In the second half, Hearts of Oak threatened to jump into the lead again as a strike at goal by Stanley Afedzie hit the crossbar but the rebound that fell to Eric Gawu was hit off target.

And Liberty Professionals responded by pressing for the lead but were denied on countless moments.

Liberty had two goals disallowed by referee Osei Nsiah.

The first came in the 62nd minute, when the referee ruled against the goal for a foul on the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper.

And on the stroke on full time another Liberty Professionals goal by Kofi Nti Boakye was again disallowed, this time for an offside.
