GFA to support Women's League Clubs with GHC36,000 ahead of weekend kickoff

The Ghana Football Association has decided to assist Clubs who will participate in this year's National Women's League with an amount of GHC 36,000.

Ahead of the commencement of the Women's League this on Saturday April 18, the GFA has also agreed to absorb officiating fees for all the matches.

This was announced at the official Launch of the League at the GFA Secretariat on Wednesday April 15.

"The GFA in addition to paying officiating fees for the clubs, will also assist clubs with an amount of GHC36,000", Commmunications Director Ibrahim Sannie Daara announced at the launch on behalf of the GFA President.

On her part, Women's League Chairperson, Leanier Addy called on Clubs to put up their best performances in the League in order to portray a good image for women football in Ghana.

She further called on corporate Ghana to heed to the call for a sponsor for the National Women's League.

The 2015 National Women’s League will commence on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April, 2015 in the Northern and Southern sectors respectively.

Twelve teams will be competing in the Third edition of the competition with six clubs in each of the two sectors.

Last season’s Champions, Hasaacas Ladies will open their campaign at the Robert Mensah Stadium as guests of Lady Strikers.
