The qualification campaign goes to the wire as eight teams still stay in contention for any of the three available premiership places.

Four sides after match-day-2 have had their ambitions quashed as the promotion league enters the final round this weekend.

The struggle in Zone III has now become a three-horse race with Mighty Jets blowing their chance of gaining promotion.

Great Olympics got their promotion credentials back on track with a hard fought 2-1 beating of Mighty Jets at Cape Coast.

The win takes the Wonder Boys to 4 points and in a good position of qualifying after all four sides had endured draws in their opening games.

Okwawu United and Real Sportive both saw their clash once again end up in draw as they shared the points in their 1-1 tie at the Gyandu Park.

But Olympics would have to finish off the job on Saturday if they are to return to the elite division when they come up against Okwawu who also have a chance of making it if they manage a win in the final qualifier.

Real Sportive, who also remain in the hunt need a win over Jets, who are effectively out of contention.

The chances of Aduana Stars qualifying from Zone I received a massive boost as they beat Universal Stars 2-1 in Kumasi to record a maximum six points.

Guan United also pulled their first victory, beating Bechem United 2-1 to improve their qualification chances despite lagging behind the leaders, Aduana by 3 points.

Aduana play Bechem in the final game while Universal Stars and Guan play the other group game.

In Zone II, New Edubiase are in pole position after winning their second successive game with a 4-1 thrashing of Tarkwa United.

The win by New Edubiase ends the 29-year hopes of Tarkwa enjoying topflight football.

The other group game had Ebusua Dwarfs doing their hopes a lot of good with a 3-1 win over Gold Stars. Both Dwarfs and Gold Stars still have chance of making it to the topflight.

Gold Stars play New Edubiase in the final game while Dwarfs take on Tarkwa United.
