The journey to the premiership division is moving into the final stages as the twelve clubs challenging for the three slots complete match-day-2.

For some clubs, the reality of joining the elite ranks after two games remains real for some clubs whiles others kiss goodbye as they fail to reproduce their impressive league form in the qualifying campaign.

Match-day-2 produced just a drawn game with fives wins all recorded by home sides.

B.A United, Okwawu United and Eleven Wise, all former premiership campaigners who are seeking a return to the elite division have crushed out after two games losing two successive games.

However, Wa All Stars, a former elite side, who have been rechristened since their drop seasons back – Upper West Heroes, are closer to returning whiles GHAPOHA FC, now known as Great Mariners are still in contention for a qualification slot.

In Zone I, Wa All Stars have jumped to the top after handing former premiership side, B.A. United a 2-0 defeat at the Carl Reindorff park.

Hamza Mohammed and Abdul Rahman Fuseini got both goals for All Stars.

Still in the zone, Lepo Stars were again beaten as they lost 0-1 to Catholic Stars at the Swedru Park courtesy a Sulemana Gafaru strike.

Eleven Wise went down 1-0 to Samartex at the Nkawkaw Park in Zone II thanks to a Daniel Nyarko’s strike as Kessben F.C needed a Moro Mohammed goal to beat Mine Stars 1-0 in Koforidua.

In Zone III, Mighty Jets dashed the hopes of Okwawu United’s return to the premiership with a 2-1 win at the Gyandu park. Frank Turkson put Okwawu United in the lead but Felix Amponsah’s brace won the game for Jets.

Nania F.C and Great Mariners drew goalless at the Robert Mensah stadium.

The competition continues in mid-week with match-day-3 action which happens to the final day of matches.

Three clubs down the log on the premiership table at the end of the season would be relegated to pave way for three new entrants.
