Promotion to the premiership gets down to the wire as eight out of the twelve clubs put up a real challenge for the three places.

For almost all the twelve clubs seeking one of the three slots in the premiership, the clarion call at the start of the promotion journey was one match at a time.

However the final day of matches comes up on Wednesday.

And after two games the reality of joining the elite ranks remains real for some while others have already kissed goodbye with no hope of making it to the elite competition.

Most of the club’s who bid goodbye after two games in the three-match competition failed to reproduce their impressive league form in the qualifying campaign.

B.A United, Okwawu United and Eleven Wise, all former premiership campaigners seeking a return to the elite division have crushed out after two games losing two successive matches just like Lepo Stars.

In Zone I, Wa All Stars, a formerly in the premiership league together with Catholic Stars are both in closer to picking the single slot from the group.

Both sides have six points apiece but All Stars lead the table with a better goal difference and the two sides battle it out for at the Swedru park.

A win for either side would secure them the qualification ticket while a draw, no matter the scoreline would hand All Stars that slot.

The other group game would see B.A. United and Lepo Stars, both out of contention playing at the Carl Reindorff park.

Kessben FC would take on the group’s whipping boys Eleven Wise at the Nkawkaw park. The Kumasi-based side have six points and a win would mean they qualify for the premiership from Zone II.

Still in Zone II, Mine Stars would take on Samartex in Koforidua. A win for either side could enhance their chances of qualifying if Kessben FC should lose their game.

In Zone III, Great Mariners take on Mighty Jets at the Robert Mensah stadium while Okwawu United play Nania FC at the Gyandu park.

Great Mariners, Mighty Jets and Nania FC are all in contention of a place in the premiership.

Three clubs down the log on the premiership table at the end of the season would be relegated to pave way for three new entrants.
