Accra Ghatel Ladies have made a strong start to the Zonal Championships in the Zone III competition.

Women's clubs drawn from all the ten regions nationwide have been segmented into three zones to compete for qualifying places in the National Championship later this year.

And Accra Ghatel Ladies' 5-1 thumping of Accra Athleta at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast signalled their intent to pick one of the two places from the Zone for the National Championship.

But Ghatel would face stiff competition from Cape Coast Vodafone Ladies and Winneba Soccer Intellectuals who also recorded big wins.

Eight teams are participating in the Zone III competition.
