Chelsea beat Hearts to go top

Berekum Chelsea have stretched their winning run to three after beating Hearts of Oak at the Coronation Park in Sunyani on Wednesday.

The Premier League debutants post a 2-0 win over the Phobians as they now sit at the summit of the table.

Goals from Awudu Moro and Abdul Basit in the first and second sessions of the game condemned the Phobians to defeat. The win gives Chelsea a hundred percent record after three rounds of matches.

AshantiGold’s poor run continued at the Len Clay Stadium where Isaac Opeele Boating’s Tema Youth posted a 1-0 win over the Miners.

Edward Affum scored in the 37th minute of the first half to give his side the win as AshantiGold recorded their second consecutive loss.

At the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra, Liberty Professionals ended their two-game losing run with a 2-1 win over Real Tamale United.

Liberty took a 2-0 lead with Samuel Ayew Yeboah hitting a brace in the second half before Tawfik Alolo pulled a goal back for the away side. The win lifts Liberty from the bottom ranks of the table.

King Faisal continued their struggle in a search of a first win as Eleven Wise picked a point off them at the Baba Yara Stadium in their 1-1 drawn game.

Samad Oppon gave Faisal a 53d minute lead but Winfred Dormon cancelled it out when he found the equaliser for Wise in the 78th minute.

Berekum Arsenal and Kessben FC shared the spoils in their 2-2 drawn match at the Anane Boateng Stadium.

An own goal by Saliu Yakubu gave Kessben a 1-0 lead but Samuel Owusu struck a brace to put the Gunners in front before Edmund Owusu-Peprah found the equaliser for the home side.

On Tuesday, a Samuel Inkoom goal handed Asante Kotoko a 1-0 win over Hasaacas at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.

Another game also played on Tuesday saw Heart of Lions post a one-nil victory over Gamba All Blacks courtesy a first half goal by Stephen Owusu at the at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast.

The final fixture for match-day-3 comes up on Thursday at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra where Sporting Mirren, who are bottom of the table take on Wa All Stars.
