Ghana have dropped a place on the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released today.

The Black Stars who had improved seven places in the year's first rankings are now positioned 28th.

According to FIFA, the African Nations Cup has had a major impact on the ranking though Spain continue to occupy top spot ahead of Brazil and the Netherlands.

On the African continent, Ghana after losing five points to settle at 818 points are still placed fifth. New African champions, Egypt have dropped seven places in the overall rankings but still hold the top spot followed by Nigeria, Cameroon and Ivory Coast in that order.

Thirty-one matches, all friendlies, have been taken into account in this edition of the Ranking, taking the total number of international 'A' matches played so far in 2010 to 98.

However, Fifa says more movement can be expected in the next edition of the ranking as a considerable number of matches will be played on 3 March, a date reserved for friendly matches in the international match calendar.
