Ghana captain Stephen Appiah remains unfazed with criticisms back home over his inability to find a club.
Appiah has come under some uncomplimentary attacks over his inclusion in the Black Stars following two tough years on the sidelines through injury and the search for club.
But the player who lead Ghana to its debut appearance at the 2006 World Cup says he is determined prove his critics wrong by finding a club first.
The player who pulled out of Ghana’s two World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Sudan due to pressing personal issues says he will not allow the criticisms to knock him off despite critics questioning the rationale for his initial inclusion in the team.
"If I had come to play there would have been criticisms and if I dont turn up, there are criticisms,” he said.
“I live in the real world and if people say I should not be called up because I don't have a club, they are right in a way but often I have not been criticised, I have been insulted.”
But he insist those insults will only fuel his motivation to play again.
“The more you criticise me, the more I want to fight back, the more I want to prove you wrong so I will deal with it.”
