Sellas Tetteh is looking forward to record victory as Ghana prepares to host Gabon in the 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers, a game he has vowed to attack for a win.

Ghana would play Gabon on Sunday at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra in the qualifiers for the 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup.

And ahead of the game, Ghana coach, Sellas Tetteh is counting on an improved performance from the Black Stars before an expectant home crowd.

“We suffered from some loss of concentration and we paid for our mistakes in that game but we have recognized all those problems and worked on them.

“It’s a game that is so important for us and we would approach it with all the strength, ability and capabilities to win.

“We have prepared sufficiently well for them after what we saw the last time we played them,” he told the FA’s website, www.ghanafa.org on Friday at the team’s hotel.

The team came under heavy criticism after allowing in two late goals in the game against Lesotho which they won 3-2 before falling to Gabon the following weekend.

It was one of the stories of football that smaller oppositions can claim victories over the established sides like the Gabonese did, strolling with a 2-0 win over Ghana last weekend in Libreville.

But in Accra on Sunday where he would under some pressure to deliver a positive result, Sellas Tetteh holds no fears ahead of the game with the Gabonese.

“There is always an expectation and also pressure when you find yourself in such positions. Well, that is football when this kind of things happen. So, we are pressing on,” he says.

Sellas Tetteh already has two wins under his sleeve and is hoping to end the busy Group 5 four-game African zone qualifier in the month of June on a high this Sunday.

He is making the most of his final campaign as the Black Stars coach – with Ghana yet to confirm a substantive manager for the Black Stars -, knowing that the game against Gabon would also give the team a good lift on the Group 5 table.

“I have really enjoyed every moment with the team and it would be good to crown it with a win on Sunday.”

A win for Ghana could see the Black Stars head into September’s round of qualifiers at the top of the group.

Libya is on the same points as Ghana and look set to win their third game with Lesotho the visitors to Tripoli this weekend.
