President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi says the planning process towards the Black Stars’ joint World Cup and African Nations Cup qualifier is been well taken off.

Ghana’s itinerary before the qualifiers begins includes a friendly game away to Australia in Sydney.

The Black Stars would begin the joint World Cup and African Nations Cup qualifiers at home against Libya on June 1 at the Kumasi Sports Stadium as the continent begins its qualifiers.

Before the maiden qualifier, Ghana would be clocking more air miles when the Black Stars travel to Australia to play the Socceroos on May 23 in a friendly which would be a lead-up to their four World Cup qualifiers in June.

However, FA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi says the team would not suffer from any adverse reaction from travelling as the training programme, travels and recuperation period ahead of match fixtures has been thoughtfully planned.

“The planning process ahead of the qualifiers has taken into consideration all our travels including the trip to Australia and our departure back home to prepare for the World Cup qualifier.

“We would play Australia on May 23 and leave Sydney the next day, which is May 24. By May 26, we should be home to continue with our preparation for the game against the Libyans.

“And we would have almost a week to prepare for the game against Libya after the Australia match,” the FA President told www.ghanafa.org.

The Black Stars would play four matches in June in the qualifying campaign with two of the total away from home.

Ghana would attempt a successive World Cup appearance after making its debut at the 2006 tournament hosted by Germany.
