Ghana captain, John Mensah would watch from the stands when the Black Stars play in the semi-finals as he remains suspended.

The defender was sent off in the second half of the grudge quarter-final match against Nigeria on Sunday for committing a professional foul in the 65th minute.

However, Mensah says his colleagues can live up to the billing on Thursday in his absence.

“I feel sad to have been sent off and also to miss the next game. But I really believe in my colleagues. I believe God will help us win the semi-final.”

“I believe they would make it. Everyone is committed to helping Ghana win something here (on home soil).

“Though I wouldn’t be available for selection, I would back them to make it,” Mensah said.

Ghana, who played a greater part of the second half with ten men following Mensah’s ejection however rallied on to win the game 2-1.
