Ghana’s opponent for the final round of qualifiers for a place in next year’s African Under-17 Championship is Gambia for now despite a protest against the Baby Scorpions.
The Black Starlets reached the final round stage after beating Libya 2-1 last Friday to finish the two-leg tie 5-1 on aggregate scoreline whilst their next round opponent eliminated Sierra Leone 7-1 on aggregate.
But the Sierra Leoneans have protested to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) alleging that Gambia fielded three over-aged players.
Caf is yet to respond to the claim by the Sierra Leoneans.
Until any decision is taken otherwise by Caf, Gambia will face Ghana in the next round.
Algeria would be hosting the finals of the 8th Africa U-17 Championship in 2009.
