Senior women’s team skipper, Adjoa Bayor says she’s not handed over the captain's band as claimed by reports.
The Black Queens midfielder would again lead the women’s team when they play South Africa on December 9 at the Ohene Djan stadium in an Olympic qualifying match.
Bayor, the 2003 African Women’s footballer of the year, who has been part of the Ghana team for a decade now since 1997 says the team has moved on since their failed attempt to make it past the group stages at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in China.
According to the Black Queens captain, the team is focused ahead of the Olympic qualifier against South Africa.
“We believe that we will defeat the South Africans because we are all united and everything is okay in camp”, she said in an interview at the team’s camp with the Football Association’s official newspaper, GFA News.
“We are ready to play at any venue at all and we know we will win”, she added.
