Ghana are just a game away from the finals of the African Women’s Championship but the Black Queens would have to complete their final Group B game on Saturday when they play DR Congo.
The game against DR Congo comes off on Saturday in Ughelli.
Even before the final Group B game, the Black Queens booked their place in the semi-finals of the African Women's Championship on Wednesday after beating rivals, the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 2-1.
Ghana’s game against Cameroon was the second for the Black Queens after a 1-0 win over Mali in the opening group match.
Wednesday’s Group B results means that the final group games on Saturday will decide who joins Ghana in the semi-finals.
Mali take on Cameroon in the other Group B clash.
Ghana coach, Isaac Paha is confident that the Black Queens who are making a fifth attempt at the African title can achieve that feat.
"I came here for the ultimate [the trophy] and I believe we are still on track," Paha said after victory over the Indomitable Lionesses.
Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa are the only sides to have qualified for the semi finals with the last slot to be picked up from group depending on the outcome of the group matches on Saturday.
Nigeria topped Group A after beating South Africa 2-0 on Friday while Algeria and Equatorial Guinea settled for a thrilling 3-3 draw in Oghara to grab their first points of the competition.
The two finalists would battle it out for the title at stake and also secure automatic qualification to the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup scheduled for China in September.
The Black Queens are hopeful of clinching the continental title, which they have missed out narrowly on two occasions, losing out to Nigeria in both finals.
Ghana, highly rated in women’s football are bent of rewriting the scripts in the female sport which Nigeria has dominated with the Super Falcons eyeing a fifth African Women's Championship.
The Black Queens remain the only team in Africa to have beaten Nigeria, with a 1-0 victory in the 2002 edition of the African Women's Championship.
