Ghana’s senior women’s team, the Black Queens are expected to bounce back for their remaining two practice games after losing to Sacramento Storm over the weekend in California.
The Black Queens lost by a lone goal at the Kezar Stadium in San Francisco on Saturday in a hard fought exhibition match.
Midfielder McKenna McKetty would net the eventual game-winning goal in the 32nd minute, firing home a one-touch shot into the lower corner of the Queens net.
The game was the first of a three-game friendly series in San Francisco organized for the Black Queens as part of the teams build up for the African Women’s Championship scheduled to kick off in Nigeria on October 28.
Ghana’s women’s team who are based in the San Francisco Bay Area would play the WPSL's San Francisco Nighthawks next at the Boxer stadium on October 15.
Then four days later, the Black Queens would again take on the same opposition, the Nighthawks side again at the Kezar stadium to round up their three-game test series.
Ghana’s contingent is being hosted by San Francisco Nighthawks, a women’s league team coached by Ghanaian manager, Robert Sackey.
