Ghana's form in qualifying for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2010 has got the tournament's Organising Committee excited as the Black Princesses will be making their debut in Germany.

The Black Princesses were 5-0 winners on aggregate over DR Congo over two legs.

Having booked their place at the tournament together with Nigeria, who are a familiar sight in the competition, Organising Committee President, Steffi Jones admits that Ghana could prove a difficult side on their debut.

"Ghana will be more of a surprise package and everyone will have to be on their guard against them.

"It is always a special moment when new teams make it through to a World Cup, and we are really looking forward to welcoming the players from Africa," Jones said in a congratulatory message to Ghana.

The Organising Committee [OC] has also promised Ghana a great stay during the competition in Germany.

"The OC will do its utmost to make the stay in Germany for your team and its staff as pleasant and promising as possible," added the head of the OC.

The Black Princesses will now await the final draw for the competition that will take place in Dresden on 22 April.

The tournament roster is almost complete with 14 of the 16 qualifiers confirmed for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which is set to take place from 13 July to 1 August 2010 in Augsburg, Bielefeld, Bochum and Dresden.

Teams that have qualified are Ghana, Nigeria, New Zealand, Japan, Korea Republic, Korea DPR, England, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Mexico, USA, as well as host nation Germany.

The South American women’s U-20 championships, to be held in Bucaramanga (Columbia) between 3 and 17 March, will determine the other two teams who will take part.
