Ghana’s Black Meteors have been drawn against the Olympic team of the Ivory Coast in the second round of qualifiers for the All-African Games.
The Black Meteors are grouped in Zone III together with Ivory Coast and Nigeria for the single slot for the 9th All Africa Games, Men’s Football tournament to be hosted by Algeria.
Nigeria has drawn a bye and would meet the winner over the two-leg tie in the third round, which is the last qualifying hurdle in February 2007.
The Black Meteors would play at home first on the weekend of December 15-17 with the return leg slated for Abidjan next year on the weekend of January 12-14.
Black Meteors coach, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio has already begun preparations for the qualifiers at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
The national Olympic team coach is in camp with thirty-eight players called up for into the Black Meteors.
The thirty-eight players are drawn from the premier league and division one leagues.
Some test games have been lined up for the Black Meteors against premier league clubs.
The matches are against Asante Kotoko, Bofoakwa Tano, Accra Hearts of Oak, Liberty Professionals and Heart of Lions.
