FIFA Under-14 Gold winning coach, Francis Oti Akenteng looks to better days ahead after guiding Ghana’s female team, the Golden Damsels to their first major success.

Francis Oti-Akenteng, who doubles at the FA’s Education and Development Officer, is optimistic about the success of women’s football in the country if directed by the proper structures that would facilitate the grooming of young potential stars to graduate into fully fledged super stars.

The country wields the talents to produce future stars for the game, the former national Under-20 manager told the Daily Statesman newspaper.

"We need to fuse tactics, techniques, physical and psychology in developing our great stars,” he said.

Oti-Akenteng led the Golden Damsels to win Gold in the seven-aside FIFA U-14 Championship in Zurich last week.

“We are proud of these girls who should be kept together and prepared for future tournaments. Grooming is a means to an end and we need encouragement and support to build a strong squad for the next World Women's World Cup,” the experienced coach said.
