Bechem United claw back to warm draw against King Faisal

Kumasi King Faisal threw away two leads to draw 2-2 against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium on match day 4 in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League.

The results leave Faisal with just their first point of the campaign and Bechem with seven points afte four match weeks.

Frimpong Boateng with a through ball to Osman on the right side of Faisal’s attack who took two touches and put in a sumptuous cross that was met by Kwame Peprah for the opener in the 30th minute.

Bechem responded quickly to pull parity three minutes after the opener when Yaw Annor’s sweet delivery found Prince Adu Kwabena who took just a touch and fired one beyond goalkeeper Mustapha Bampoe.

Minutes after Bechem United’s equalizer, Charles AduGyamfi took advantage of some bad defending from Bechemunited and laid a pass to Osman who took two defenders out before slotting the ball into the bottom left corner to restore the home side’s lead 10 minutes to the break.

The second half of the game saw little action as many stoppages due to injury and fatigue from both sets of players.

King Faisal gave away their lead after a temporary holdup forced them to substitute injured goalkeeper Mustapha Bampoe for Moro Yusif. Play resumed with a throw-in for Bechem United which was whipped from the halfway line to the right flank. Substitute Emmanuel Owusu Boakyedelivered a cross across the face of goal which was tapped in at far post by Pince Adu Kwabena for his second goal and equaliser for Bechem.

The 88th minute nearly saw the home side taking all three points but Kwame Peprah’s rebound from a saved Osman Ibrahim deflected shot in the six-yard box was ruled out for a deliberate handball and a yellow card to the forward.

With 10 minutes of additional time, both teams failed to create descent goal-scoring opportunities as they shared spoils.
