AshantiGold failed to assume the summit of the league table as the Miners could only manage a point at the Tema park where they drew goalless with Tema Youth on Saturday.

The Miners looked the better side in the first half but Alex Asamoah agonizingly watched one of his various strikes at goal hit the post.

Asamoah, who lead the goal charts with seven goals to his credit pushed for the opener but his efforts at goal always missed target.

The first half ended goalless with AshantiGold looking the better side.

In the second half, Tema Youth upped the tempo of the game and enjoyed possession for longer spells.

It was evident that injury had taken its toll on the home side as they struggled to break the rear of the Miners.

But poor finishing ensured that they settle for a point apiece with their opponents.
