Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has urged the Black Stars to beat Comoros on Tuesday and advance to the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars arrived in Kumasi on Sunday morning and moved straight to the Manhyia Palace to pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene before going to their team hotel.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu welcomed the team to the Ashanti Region and called on them to make up for last Friday’s goalless draw in the first leg match played in Moroni.

“Each time you go on the pitch, know that you are representing all Ghanaians and that the country has confidence in you. So you must go all out for a convincing win on Tuesday and make the entire nation proud”, the Asantehene told the Black Stars on Sunday morning.

He further expressed optimism that the Black Stars will make a fourth successive qualification to the World Cup and hopefully win it this time around.

“We’ve been to the World Cup thrice and hopefully this time around you will not only qualify but we will go and win the trophy”, he said.

The King of the Ashanti Kingdom also called on soccer fans in Kumasi to throng the Baba Yara Stadium and cheer the Black Stars to victory in the all-important match.

On his part, Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan thanked the Asantehene for his words of advise and support for the team over the years.

He reiterated the team’s commitment and preparedness to win Tuesday’s game and make it into the next stage of the qualifier to the next stage of the qualifiers.
